Hungary has become one of the world’s most film friendly locations with low production costs, highly trained and internationally experienced crews, great infrastructure, attractive locations and new state-of-the-art studios. There are no unions, so wages and conditions are flexible and extremely competitive. Adding to that, TV productions and feature films shot in Hungary are eligible for a 30-37% TAX rebate based on their expenditures in the country, including pre/post-production. These projects can even qualify for a partial rebate on spend in other countries.

The prime filming season is from March until October with average sunshine hours longer then most European countries. Summers are warm, sometimes hot. Winters can be cold, cloudy or windy. The average temperature range is 22 C. Distances within Hungary are relatively short, and most locations in the country can be reached from Budapest within a few hours. With some of the most beautiful locations in the world, Hungary can be found in the heart of Europe, where filming at a state-of-the-art standard is still affordable.
